The best use of this site is News.
Comments: The CBC is known for world class TV journalism, unfortunately this reputation doesn't translate to their online news service. News articles are generally copied from other news sources (Reuters, Associated Press, etc.) and sanitized of all information but the main point, meaning stories are covered with no context or intricacy. Comments section below articles is heavily moderated, complying with TOS is no guarantee comments will be accepted. Posters may find they simply waste time writing thoughful or knowledgable comments, only to have them arbitrarily rejected by a moderator who disagrees with them. For international news, Reuters or Associated Press offer the same information with greater detail. For discussion and debates, the Globe and Mail offers a much less totalitarian moderating scheme. The only area where CBC might be a good recommendation is for local news.
