This site shows WHO's contribution to the wider effort for scaling-up the achievement of better health outcomes, particularly for the world's poorest people, with a focus on improving the coherence and effectiveness of WHO work at country level; sustaining multisectoral alliances for scaling-up the global response to ill-health; enabling policy makers and practitioners to make decisions on the basis of best evidence by making available the necessary knowledge and analytical frameworks; and providing effective leadership and direction that link global and country health action. Amazingly this site is powered by Metadot Portal Server, an open source portal software (showing once more the value and quality of open source software)
