Comments: I visit the site to review interesting new places and check my business reviews. Tripavisor acts in the interests of the client yet promotes a basic flaw in communication: it has caused the client to go straight to the keyboard and not to the issue and find a resolution with service provider. It promotes conflict at times... not all by any means. As service provider I cannot review anything now. Even if I go to a restaurant TA sees me as suspect reviewer which is really damaging simply because I am not a straight out of the blue tourist. It is paranoid. It is near impossible to create a review unless TA recognise the destination. Example: Corchia village is one of the amazing jewels in Emilia Romagna and famous across N Italy. 12 century and full of charm... TA don't have it on the map so it doesn't have itself as a destination. So for off the track destination TA makes life really hard to get on the map. Navigation on TA is a nightmare. But essentially it is too reactionary and promotes some extra degree of conflict. It needs far more more conflict resolution dialogue - because it actually promotes conflict.

Comments: If someone is looking for unbiased reviews from real travelers, then this site is the best out there. Consumer generated content wins. I'd rather read content from users who have true experiences, than from a journalist who might have written the content because the hotel spent ad money in their publication. Great site for planning trips with the family.
