If you are interest in search Asian patents, IPEXL patent search is a pretty good choice. IPEXL is free patent search engine developed by the Intellectual Property Exchange in Singapore covering a wide range of patent databases including a significant portion of Asian databases from China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore updated frequently. The IPEXL site was created to provide users in the patent community a free way to search across multiple databases using a search engine that is quickly and easy to use. Particular emphasis is placed upon the Asian databases containing searchable English text and native Chinese, Japanese and Korean text, as those are not typically available in free patent search engines. The IPEXL interface is similar to many free search engines. A variety of search operators are available. IPEXL ranks results according to relevance and reference using a proprietary algorithm, and users follow links directly to the publishing authority to view individual results. IPEXL Patent Search can be helpful to patent searchers who are on a limited budget, and provides reasonably good access to free patent collections from Asian countries.
