Comments: i have tried selling on ebid and registered as an unlimited seller after seeing lots of hype about it but my sales have been very few. I've been involved in ebid dicussions in the past and have never seen ebid as a viable alternative. I decided to put my money where my mouth is and gave ebid a go.I listed several of my best selling items on ebid with good looking listings, added all the extra info to my profile and did everything else as recommended on the ebid forums, even listing my prices cheaper than on Cqout. Over what was roughly a 2-3 month period I had just 3 sales on ebid and one of those resulted in a non-paying bidder . In the same period on cqout I sold x12 of the same items! Ebid is a non starter for me.

Comments: Same story as all the others before and the ones after me. As a seller for 10+years on ebay the listing fees, final value fees and paypals (ebay company) fees ended up taking 30% off the top. It just became too much. I jumped ship for a growing company who treats the sellers fair. They dont suck us dry.

Comments: Ebid is a great alternative to ebay. The site is easy to negotiate, it has a active and very helpful community of buyers and selers who are always ready to help. The big advantage over Ebay is the low fees. No charge for basic listing, up to 5 free stores. Over all Ebid is a great place to buy and sell.

Comments: Consider this, a place where the people that run it are friendly, fast , helpful, a place where sellers are not crippled with ever increasing fee's , a place where sellers big and small are welcomed in the same way, a place where buyers are finding it day by day and joining to grab great bargains, growing the comminity in percentage terms that others can only now dream of. Now consider the alternative, HIGH selling fee's, no communication, unhelpful 'help pages' an obvious bias against smaller sellers, ignorant and sometimes rude service, Sellers leaving day by day to Join Ebid, which would you choose ? OF COURSE EBID WINS HANDS DOWN, Long live the 'new boys on the block' because the corporate giant that used to be is dying, and it will not get better. Ebay = Ebid ? there is NO choice really, Ebid wins on all counts.

Comments: Ebid is the alternative to ebay..without the crippling fees. The site is easy to use and a very friendly place to buy and sell. Open 5 store fronts with no extra charge. Only a 2% final value fee if the item sells. NO charge for listing. YOU DO NOT RACK UP FEE CHARGES like you do with ebay, making it a very cost effective site to sell your items. Ebids feedback system is better than ebay, you are not at the mercy of your buyer and feedback can be altered when a problem has been resolved. All in all, a very nice shopping experience. Move over ebay, Ebid is here and growing!

harworth says: Just come across eBid. Really impressed. turns out they charge sellers less than eBay. I found this out because I noticed a lot of "buy it now" things were cheaper than I'd seen on eBay and e-mailed a couple of sellers to ask why (being the suspicious type)- both replied in pretty much the same way - turns out that ebay is really hammering sellers with the fees now, but eBid isn't, so the sellers (both said they used to be on eBay) can sell things cheaper on eBid. There also seems to be less bidders, which is another plus of course. I know where I'm looking first in future.
