Facebook User says: dated 8/0409 Can I rate a site lower than 1? This site needs a -5. Unbelievable how it's transformed from a generally informative site into something virtually inaccessible. Firefox gets a constant page load error. It has so much garbage that my browser just deletes all visual content. In IE, it crashes the browser. Or, if I can actually get past the obnoxious splash screen, I get an unsolvable cookie error. Just unbelievable that someone would continue to operate such a horrible site. Additionally, there just seems to be no people behind the scenes that can fix all the problems. I've been trying to resolve an email account issue since 11/2008 (it's now 8/2009). Seriously. I went to the Better Business Bureau about this since I had invested a lot of time and energy adding content. All for naught. I am seriously disappointed about the website, the quality, the compatibility problems, the inability to contact staff, the inability of staff to solve problems, the lack of true "community," the so-called mods don't moderate. All in all, it's been a horrible experience. Go elsewhere for your TV love.

I signed up for an account because I wanted to correct some goof sections I saw errors on. Usually when I sign up for random sites, I use a mailinator account or another free anon service, but they seem to be smart to this and have those emails blocked. I gave in and used my real e-mail, which was a big mistake. I had never gotten a single spam message before until then, and then I started getting MASSIVE amounts of spam, stuff like "Get your diploma now!" (since I am college aged).

I have not had the same problems that other users have reported (with spam and flash) so I cannot really speak to those. I just know that TV.com is making great strides toward becoming an excellent site. I was a regular user at TV Tome, and when that site was purchased by TV.com I was initially very disappointed. Mistakes were made in the early days of this site (underestimating the amount of traffic and submissions, planning to do away with guide editors, etc) but the staff has shown a real desire to improve the site by talking to members and taking their concerns into account. As with any large database, the changes have introduced new bugs which are still being ironed out, but the fact that the staff has been so accessible has earned this site at least 1.5 stars in recent months. It feels as though the best is yet to come.

I only recently found out about TV.com thru a friend and I must say I'm very impressed with the overall layout and helpful staff members. I like the ability to have your own private profile and review shows by episode which can't be done at some other sites. I've bookmarked this site in my favorities and will be a repeat user at TV.com.

This website would've been better if it wasn't for it's ultra slow response time. I do not know how it remains an almost top 500 website. I'm using a cable internet connection and it's slower than hell. Half of the buttons do not work. I have great difficulty in writing reviews, because of some error message that keeps popping up. Whoever maintains this site should be shot.

I have never seen a site go downhill like this one. TVTome was once my favorite website, but in June 2005, that all changed. Sure it was fun sometimes in the forums, but then they started all these stupid rules that weren't even necessary. A lot of people even liked the site when there was less rules, but once they got there, a lot of good members continued to leave. All my friends left, and I left to. I came back for laughs, and found out I was banned. I was like "Excuse me?" I made another account, and PM-ed one of the mods, and asked why I was banned, but then they banned me once again. I've never felt so betrayed. In November, I found a great substitute. Even the most loyal tv.com member The_Huntsman has left TV.com, and loves tvrage now. If you want to laugh at how crappy a site can be, than this is the site for you. Enjoy.

I was initially disappointed, as some of the other reviewers, when it was announced that TVTome would be no more. TV.com is a well-designed site with all the information you need about what's on and what used to be on, and the forums offer a great environment for discussion amongst fans. The only problem, and this is a problem that in my opinion warrants a one-star rating, is that they seem to be extremely picky about who they allow to use the forums. I have tried several times to register an account, and each time I have been banned from the forums before making a single post. I feel discriminated against, and while I still visit TV.com occasionally, having been denied access to the forums is a huge disappointment to someone who has never been an abuser of such priveleges. I am currently looking for a similar website that actually allows regular people to post on its forums instead of letting only a select few inside. It's a website, folks, not an exclusive nightclub.
