Comments: To call TOPIX a "News" site is an insult to the entire profession of journalism. This site is nothing less than an unmoderated & glorified message board. Lawsuits against Topix and it's Users across the nation have sprung up based on the vicious, libelous and despicable attacks on individuals, businesses, even entire communities. The CEO, Chris Tolles, is a vile human being who openly encourages the site to be used as a place to launch excoriating attacks on others. This is proven and documented via interviews he has given. The site is owned by Gannett, McClatchy & Tribune Media Companies. There are so many anti-topix websites on the internet it pales belief. If you are thinking about posting your personal or business information on this site - my guess is that you will seriously regret it. Topix doesn't moderate the Posts or Threads, and usually refuses to remove negative or even illegal comments directed at others. These anonymous Users, labeled "trolls" by some, will attack people viciously, calling others child molesters, racial slurs, etc. Drug Dealers openly use Topix forums to set up drug deals and sell their wares. Topix allows it all.

They display the opinions submitted by city and state for the US, which is especially neat if you'd like to know what individuals in a specific region are saying, such as Alaska or Portland, ME.
