snakecharmermedia says: Often, when I do a Google search for a topic, I wind up with the answer at Suite 101. I rarely actually visit the site and navigate from the home page, but the is rich with good content, and I wind up there a few times a week. The site has changed over the years, and the quality of the content has improved significantly.

I enjoyed the website for a long time before I decided to write there and now I'm able to support my big family working online. For real, we pretty much play all day now, life is good. I don't think the ads are intrusive (although from what I understand, in the past they were) and I'm really happy with the level of professionalism that the staff and other writers share. Perhaps reviews should expire here, or be intertwined with the company's timeline of progress. Check them out for yourself. My site is 30queries30days dot com and I help moms become freelance writers

Suite101.com is a tremendous site. I have been a Member of this Community for years and wanted to state that this site has a fantastic group of writers. There are all sorts of info and some really interesting discussions too. I find the site really easy to navigate and have several topics added to my favourites. A site well worth checking out.

This site has one google google ads. I counted them. If you like wasting time navigating around advertisements, then this is the site for you. You could probably take all their relative content from this site and make two webpages out of it. Think of it like this. Take a hefty Sunday newspaper. Strip all the ads and what you have left is Monday's paper. Thats this site. Mondays info. No content, because all the stories were yesterday. If you manage the time to surf around this site, you will have eventually surfed through google's ad database. Save a tree and read a newspaper.

Suite 101 is great for a little bit about alot of different topics but some areas are disappointing relative to the other available sites. In particular the camping and RV travel areas.

Rated one star because you have to rate to post. Realistically it should be a ZERO! This site is extremely hard to navigate, installs spyware through its ads, has so many google ads one can't even find the articles anymore. And that's just what visitors must crawl through: Writers are expected to sign a contract that Suite101 will not abide by. It's well known this site and its management hold writers in little regard. Firing all of the writers as of November 1st, without 30 days (contract stipulated) was just the first step. Locking them all out was the next, and that includes the course writers. Course writers have not been paid in months, some never at all. Not to mention the random deleting, renaming and rewording of articles and topics. WRITERS BEWARE! It appears that the negative comments about suite101 were likely written while the site was being re-worked. I admit that for the last year or so it was very google ad heavy and not very pretty to look at. The content was okay, but not well updated. Well, recently they have done a lot to change that appearance and improve their content. They no longer accept article submissions from the general public (that particular negative comment must be VERY old) and all of their writers are paid staff members that don't make a dime unless they write good content. Also, in late June 2006 they rewrote the template for the site giving it a nice, clean feel and look. I see good things in store for Suite101.com in the future.

Suite 101 is very good. It has short articles on a wide range of subjects. Yes, it has google ads, but they are limited to two or three on the right hand side. IT does not install spyware on your computer. All of the writers are carefully screened before they are allowed to post. They have areas for discussion and comments. Please don't take what are very old reviews to what the site is today.

Suite 101 manages to provide an efficient platform for serious writers. The range of material is enormous. There are 27,000 articles on Suite and an equal number of articles are archived. As a person who lives to write, I am able to say confidently that Suite provides a platform that becomes invisible to the user after a fairly short period of time. Fellow writers on Suite are generally cooperative and amiable. I have posted my articles and stories on other sites but did not get the readership that I do on Suite. Give it a try either as a reader or a writer or both. Thanks. Larry Low

As someone who wrote content for them, managed a group of online writers and sent out a monthly newsletter for my section, Suite 101 took away our pay, asked us to wait out the changes and promised things would get better. What happened? They locked us out, kept our content and are selling some of it on other sites. Having a good track record of reliability with them accounted for zilch when they changed everything and their tactics were not fair to the content writers, CEs, MEs etc. Shame on Suite 101. Shame on me for getting taken by them. Innocent writers beware.
