I have contacted them several times and have had NO response. The Storesonline.com site has taken over my browser bar and since I am not a computer, I can't get it off. HELP!

I and my business partner purchased 3 storesonline websites in November of 2005 & have just launched (weakly) the first one. It definitely wasn't as easy as they said it would be, but being from the 'old school' - I knew it wouldn't be. A lot of the "easy" is your choice of product(s). If you have a minimal product line-excellent - much less work for you. If you have a large inventory and multiple vendors, it becomes verrrrry tedious entering all of the information and cross referencing items and keywords. Also, I will admit that, being a self taught computer user (above average knowledge for age group - 60+), a lot of the tech language was foreign to me. SOL does have LOTS of reference material, help pages & tutorials, but they could definitely be less complicated (less wordy), and better organized, thus more user friendly. The chat help desk is pretty much on the spot with assistance, but I've gotten some mis-information on occasion, too. I have researched some other hosting companies, since signing up with SOL, and the techie language seems to be a given, if not the high prices. (Haven't used them, so can't rate them). The things that really irritate me about SOL is the telemarketers posing as SOL representatives, using fear tactics to get you to buy overpriced tutoring assistance, and to incorporate your business, and also charging $999 + monthly for a credit card processor that can be found elsewhere for under a $100. I figure that we paid over $4000 for these sites - (plus launch fee plus monthly hosting fee), that I'M putting together, so should get any and all of the assistance & advice I need for that price. They should have better follow-up for people who are new to this game, not telemarketers trying to grab more $$$. I've been in sales for a long time, so recognize hype when I see it. Hype doesn't necessarily mean a bad product, but you do have to spend some time weeding out the hype to get to the basic features and benefits of the product. I'm still doing that with SOL. Do I think SOL is over priced? Definitely. Do I think they have a decent product? Definitely. Could it be better & more user friendly? Definitely. Is it a good value? The next few months of working on and watching my website(s) will tell if SOL is what they say they are, and will do what they say they will, so time will tell re the value.

I am writing today to start the process of my new merchant website with SOL and have to say that I am VERY excited about it! I have read the other reviews and am here to tell you that so far I have NOT had ANY problems as far as customer support or any other issue with SOL! I have also recently attended the conference, the workshop, as well as, the eBay training and I do NOT regret any of the travel I had done to do this. I am a stay-at-home mom for going on 10 years now and I wanted to take another career path in my life and have been wanting to start my own internet business for about the last 5 years, but with all the scams that are out there on the internet, I have to say I have been afraid to start anything because of wasting money that we did not have. I myself am a devout believer that GOD will give to us the things we are in need of indeed if we ask him. He knows our hearts and he knows how willing we are to work for what we really want in life. I didn't need the whole block dropped on my head to realize that this was the path that GOD was leading me down and in order for it to work for me I truly believe that I have to put my all and effort and yes some time devoted to building my sites as well as my business for it to eventually grow. I remember also them telling us this was not a get rich quick scheme, which told me that this IS the right path for me because if they would have told us that we would immediately see a vault full of money in our account the day after I put my site live, I would have thought twice about starting my business with them. For those who are reading these reviews and getting discouraged over what others are saying about SOL. Keep referring back to this page because I will be keeping everyone informed as to how I am coming along with my business and, like everything in life, we get out of it what we put into it. For those of you who are just getting started like myself, don't get discouraged if you feel you are lost or just can't seem to get started in the right direction. The live chat is great I have already used it a few times so yes they do provide immediate help when you use them and ask questions like they told us to do at the workshop. ASK QUESTIONS! 2004 90 MIN INFORMATIONAL MEETING: GREAT: The 90 min talk was very educational. I learned quite a bit from the initial contact meeting and assumed the all day workshop would be 10 fold and well worth the $30 cost. NOT SO GREAT: the talk went over by an hour (no break). Dinner was served around 8:30 pm and the room was uncomfortably cold for most - I left due to another commitment. ALL DAY WORKSHOP: GREAT: The overall presentation was awesome! The speakers were wonderful. StoresOnline choose their speakers very well. They were down to earth and kept your attention the entire day. Prior to this workshop, we had no idea what was involved in having a successful online business site. It was an invaluable education and I have pages of notes. Breakfast and lunch was wonderful. NOT SO GREAT: The morning session went really well until the last break before lunch. "The pressure was on". During a break they quickly herded everyone to tables up front to fill in forms to "save time later". This is one of those frenzied sales tactics. (In the meantime, they opened the buffet, all those hungry people at the table wanting to "get through" the paper work so they could eat) The associated staff was in fast talk mode and causing confusion. These same staff people were very calm and smooth prior to this. Many people commented on how rushed and confusing it had become. We choose not to fill the form out, knowing we had no immediate access to the kind of money they were talking about. I needed up to 5 business days. Because of that, we believe we were "brushed off" and provided with and associate for our "personal consultation" that knew nothing and repeated what we had heard all day. (They could do this. They have a seating chart to match against the forms that were turned in. Why waste the time on me.) Their finance program @18% interest is like a punishment for bad credit. Using a sliding scale according to your credit score would be more attractive to potential "New" Merchants. MY 2 STARS are for the incredible amount of information we gained and for a job well done by the speakers. I'm turned off by the restrictions on the "deals". If it's a good product and you want to sell it...then sell it anytime. "Specials" are great for same day sign up, but you really get very little at quite a price tag if you choose to sign up later. I recommend anyone take part in a StoresOnline presentation to learn, but ~beware~.

Storesonline.com sells you on the short amount of time it will take you to have a working business. They say it will take effort but with an hour a day you can have a working, money making website with their instruction. It has been a 10-12 hour a day, 7 day a week effort and no money is coming in yet. I follow every one of their instructions to the letter. Now they say, "Oh, yes it takes time." They lied. Over hyped and misrepresented. Just take a pick axe and go look for gold in the worn out hills. It will be less effort. Save your money. There are all sorts of hidden expenses in making it happen. It cost another $1500 since I paid them $6000.
