Comments: I joined facebook early on (my user number was under 400k if I recall) in the first day or two when they let opened the flood gates to the common man or woman not elite grad students. Facebook at the time seemed to be filled with witty and polite people. They had simple games like monster battles and things you could send other users. This was everything myspace wasn't at the time. The "trash" was on myspace (hope that isn't too harsh). Yes, ones with seizure inducing profiles in their skimpy clothing. The mindless add a comment please mentality. Facebook was the escape. Then as years passed the format changed. They added status updates. I stopped using the site then came back around a year later to add a friend to view her photos. I soon got addicted to farming virtual crops among other wastes. I chose to totally remove myself from the site in 2010 and have not rejoined despite most people inability to do so. The Wal-Mart of social networks is a hard habit to stop. My time is now spent sporadically online and with real people who I really love and care for. I guess you have to ask yourself. Will you regret not spending more time online?

Comments: Again another dictator. No customer service AT ALL. They take decisions and let you know when they care to. Basta. They steal your life, your own stuff you put on their website, without you even noticing (yes read the 1 million pages of small prints if you care). I wonder how they managed to call themselves a "social" network. It is more likely like a 'national socialist' network! They already started to embrued yellow stars on our shirts...

Comments: Formerly a Facebook-addict, I've now turned my eyes to Google Inc.'s competitor, Google+. Why? From my experience with Facebook Inc., the social networking site may be the largest of its kind on the earth, but definitely NOT the best. The customer support is almost non-existent, the privacy is not much better, and the community as a whole seems to have a mean IQ of 65. Not only has the corporation been investigated numerous times for violations of privacy, abuse of power, and non-consensual distribution of people's personal information, but the entire population of members are acting more and more like Facebook is the new MySpace with each passing day - and rightfully so. Virus and account compromising threats are a daily occurrence and to make it worse, the developers at Facebook often times roll out detrimental updates - many of which are plagiarized from other social networking websites - without warning. In short, I do NOT recommend people using Facebook, however it's unlikely that over 800,000,000 accounts (not people, mind you), around 50% of which are active on the site daily, will catch on. Until that day (if it ever comes), however, I'll be avoiding Facebook Inc. and all its associates like the plague that it's beginning to resemble.
