It's definitely extremely biased towards Open Source products, but it serves a good purpose. There are plenty of non-Microsoft bashing articles in it. Not being a Microsoft fan, I am biased, but I use both Microsoft and Unix/Linux in my job as a SysAdmin.

This site is cool! It's got many, many interesting articles covering different areas of nerdy and geeky interests. However, not all topics are interesting to all. I agree that much of it is too Microsoft-trolling or about the government or the RIAA taking your online rights away. But really, this site is cool - especially when they post those cool LEGO news! :D

I've been an avid reader of Slashdot for almost 10 years, and despite not being so involved or interested in the IT world, I don't plan on changing. Why? Because of the readership. They're intelligent (by-in-large), funny and informed, and the quality of comments is higher on Slashdot than you can find anywhere else on the internet.

Slashdot used to really have news for nerds, as their tagline proudly states, but nowadays it seems to be mostly screechy leftist whining about how the government is taking away all your rights and establishing a police state because the government wants to enact laws to protect owners of copyrights from script kiddies and warez d00ds.
