Comments: The articles are written by professional WRITERS, not professionals in the industries they write about. Anyone who has ever been paid for writing something is by definition a professional writer. Overall, the quality of the recipe and gardening articles is hit or miss. If you check the references at the bottom of the articles, you'll find that most eHow articles just regurgitate information from one or two of the sources, but leave out some key tips or exceptions. Since I can't trust that anything I read on the site is reliable, I prefer to skip to the bottom of the article and read the resources.

Comments: The site was pretty good a few years ago when it had a mix of more polished articles written by professional writers (not necessarily professionals in the topics they wrote about) and everyday people sharing their expertise. Since then they've gone in a new editorial direction and everything is watered down to the point of uselessness, as other reviews have noted here. The site is overrun with fluff slideshows, videos that are too basic and don't delve into more complex problems, and articles that are heavy on the introductory fluff and light on actual how-to instructions.

Comments: Aside from the incredibly slow page loading times and the overwhelming presence of ads, the site's biggest problem is the useless content. My colleague used to be one of their freelance writers and explained that the editorial managers force writers to dumb-down the content to the lowest common denominator so that it will appeal to the broadest audience possible. Unfortunately, this renders the siteless useless when it comes to researching anything of importance. The most in-depth articles are "How to Pour a Glass of Milk."

Comments: All you get is a title that matches your question. Read the article and it's just a collection of useless advices. The article How to Fix a Car Without a Mechanic tells you to 1. ask friends 2. Check into your significant other's family and friends. Really? Why do I need your misleading article for? Totally useless.

Comments: The titles of the articles lead you to believe the page is about one thing, but when you read the article it's about something else--usually a superficial topic overview and common knowledge instructions. An article titled "How to Calculate Roof Snow Loads" tells you to find an online roof snow load calculator. An article on how to treat a sprain tells you to see a doctor. DUH. The few pages that have *actual* instructions are unfortunately lacking in specific diagrams, only stock photos. Completely useless site.

Comments: Ehow provides a lot of concise how to information that simply does not exist elsewhere, or if it does, it is difficult to find or more complex in overview. The best channels are the health and food. Keep up the good work!

Comments: The tutorials and overviews on the site are too shallow and full of extremely common knowledge. There are no diagrams for any of the projects, only a stock photo lede, which I presume is to attract people to read the articles. In short, none of the articles I've come across provide enough detail to help any one do anything. The other issue is the ads. They have an enormous ad that runs as a background image and it is very easy to accidentally click on it. The other ads are too large compared to the actual text on the page, in fact, only about 10% of the page contains the text of the how-to, the rest is ads and links to other equally worthless articles. I use the Google Chrome extension to block this site from Google search results. If you want to avoid seeing eHow in the SERPs, you can use alternative search engines, such as Blekko, DuckDuckGo, (and Yahoo to some extent).

Comments: I throw up in my mouth a little every time I see Ehow in the web search results. Ehow is one of the worst sites I have ever been on. The articles all follow a ridiculous numbered format and the authors are not experts who simply copy other website's content.
