Comments: It takes a confident company to walk away from a strong brand and try to reinvent itself. Unfortunately Autotrader have shot themselves in the foot with there recent redesign as the site looks like just another generic car classified site. The redesign has brought a far slower site with tons of glitches that make it infuriating for the viewer. They seem to have lost track of there core business and switched direction in favour of general advertising , anything from SKY TV to Barclaycard. I don't have a problem with the site using it's platform to advertise but I do have a problem when it does so at the cost of the main function of the site. When buying a car you want a classified site that gives clear information and some good large images of the car, but autotrader have decided that when you click on an advert for a car and then choose to see images that a credit card advert should load at the top of the image slideshow and the main content should load as slowly as possible. I would understand if these adverts were in some way subsidising the content but seeing as the cost of advertising on autotrader has gone up by 20% in the last 18 months from £19.99 to £24 then pure greed and scamming its customers whilst they have them seems to be there plan. I wonder if Autotrader will be No.1 in five years or will sites like ebaymotors take the top spot.

liverpool says: This is an example of bad web design at it's worst! I liked the old site and searching was made easy...must have been a little too easy for a company that sells a magazine. The answer? to sell so many video flash advert spaces and popups the website basically comes to a stop when loading the next page so slow you can go to the shop and read the magazine before it loads! needs a lot of work for a popular website

This site seems to have the quantity of cars other sites don't. There are some great loan offerings on the site as well. You can advertise in their magazines as well.I can't see any reason to go anywhere else.

Great site, free to use, over 300,000 vehicles to choose from, easy to locate the car you are looking for. I have used this site several times in the last couple of years to buy and sell cars. I sold a TVR T350 in 2 days and my mother in laws Ford Escort in 3 hours. Top notch, great site, what more can I say still the No1 UK car site IMHO.

The news, reviews and features are second to none, helping you to find lots of information about your car or a car you are thinking of purchasing. The used and new car searches are fantastic, finding the car you want, where you want it.
