Comments: Great website. I don't know why they got 1 start. Probably Yahoo trying to sabotage them, looks like a Yahoo member got here and gave them a 1 start. From Answerbag You get good and long answers from them, don't believe me? Try it out and compare 1-2 answers of answerbag to yahooanswers and you'll see who's great. Answerbag is good.

internetfanatic says: This was a site you could go to and share anything. You could ask advice on anything and if you just needed a friend you found one. The comment threads allowed us to make friends and keep up with how they were doing and what was going on in their life. They sold out to money and changed the entire site. It's not even worth being a member of now. They had a point system in place that allowed you to get and give points based on your effort and hard work. That is what kept the members there. That is now gone. Some members worked very hard and many years worth of work to get where they were and now AB says "so what". We kept hearing "we value your opinions but we don't care" from AB staff. Despite the fact that 80-85% of the members begged for it to be changed back they refuse. The site is now basically dead. You can't make friends, no laughter (which was a daily thing), no humor. It's all serious and the site is so full of glitches they keep promising to fix. Empty promises is what they are. AB lost over 250 members (of a year or longer) but we are not as important as those new ones who might come in and stay 1 day or ask one question. They now delete everything that is posted that is in disagreement with the new AB (anything that doesn't praise them and their decision). We all feel betrayed.

I was a member there for several years, and have amassed piles of evidence that clearly show that they couldn't care less! It isn't just that the new changes they made completely cut us off from talking to each other anymore (we view ourselves literally as extended family), it's the mounds of neglect they heaped on us by never fixing the features of the site.....FOR YEARS. However, if they don't like you, you'll see immediate results! So I know they're there....somewhere. I have never seen such lack of professionalism, except for possibly in a few smarmy used car salesmen. Come to think of it, the term sociopath comes to mind. That is how UNATTENTIVE they are to their money makers (that would be the users). You'd THINK that, at least they'd listen to us, if only to keep their own income safe and secure. But after years of the same old complaints, we finally gave up entirely. You win, Answerbag!

Even before the complete (surprise)makeover of their site, moderation was biased and promises of glitch fixes by admin were seldom, if ever, followed-up. By use of a 'penalty box', some great, long time users were banned for years from the site. Don't waste your time or energy on Answerbag. Fluther is by far a better q & a site.

No users = no consumers to buy the wares they are peddling for their advertisers. Bros before Hos is how the saying goes. karyn says: This was the best site online. A few months ago they sold out and now it's not worth the time to even log in. Staff asks us what changes to make and our opinion and then they do what they want to do. the best thing about the site was the comment feature and it allowing you to get to know people and make friends. Now all that is gone. Some of us have spent thousands of hours on that site and are now ignored and basically told "we don't care what you want and your hard work has been for nothing". They have added so many ads in there you can't even navigate the site. It's designed to bring in new younger teen users and doesn't care what those of us who have been there for years thinks. If you join this site you will be sorry. If you want a site just to cure boredom, not make friends, not get acknowledged, you will love this site. (If you are computer savvy that is)

saraknows says: The thing that made Answerbag unique was the feeling of community. This has been eradicated by the changes to the format and by the indifference the staff has shown it's users with the current changes. Lex Friedman needs to work on his social skills, his abrupt dismissals of the user concerns speak volumes about the new AB atmosphere. They don't really care what the users think. I will not be going back.

chloe2 says: Today the site lost ALL of it's appeal. I won't log on again. I won't fluff up their numbers by signing on to complain to a staff who could care less what we, the users, think.

kbc says: For the past 2 1/2 years I have been a member of this site,,I have weathered the 'big change' and tried to see where the 'improvements' were going to go. So far,all I can say is the site has as many bugs and glitches as it did,(if not more than it did)before the change in Dec of 09. Staff doesn't respond to comments(exactly like they have since I joined)leaving our participation up to us,,the site asks for feedback,and leaves you hanging there without any support,any comments,any returned announcement at all. I am a member of a few sites like this,as of now,I am not pleased and cannot leave a good rating for this site.
